Timothée Chalamet has opened up about a memorable birthday surprise arranged by his partner, Kylie Jenner, centered around his longtime love for Interstellar.

Speaking during a CNN & Variety Town Hall conversation with his former co-star Matthew McConaughey, Chalamet revealed that Jenner organized a private IMAX screening of the 2014 sci-fi epic for his 30th birthday. The actor starred as Tom in Interstellar, playing the son of McConaughey’s character, Cooper.

Chalamet shared that he has watched the Christopher Nolan-directed film more than 20 times, including 12 viewings in theaters during its original release. Calling it one of his favorite projects, he noted that the film arrived at a formative moment in his early career.

For the surprise, Jenner arranged a screening at a private theater outside Los Angeles. Chalamet admitted he was initially unaware of the plan and felt “grumpy” during the drive, questioning why they were traveling so far on his birthday. However, once he realized the destination was an IMAX showing of Interstellar, he quickly apologized and embraced the thoughtful gesture.

Chalamet and Jenner have been romantically linked since early 2023 and made their red carpet debut in 2025. The reality star and beauty mogul has frequently supported the actor at awards shows and premieres, including the Golden Globes earlier this year.
