King Charles breaks silence after Prince Andrew arrest over misconduct investigation
King Charles issues statement after Prince Andrew arrest as police investigate alleged misconduct

King Charles III has publicly responded following the arrest of his brother, Prince Andrew, according to a report by People.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody on February 19 — the day of his 66th birthday — at Wood Farm on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Authorities confirmed the arrest was made on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Law enforcement officers also carried out searches at additional properties linked to him in Berkshire and Norfolk as part of the ongoing investigation.
In a statement issued through Buckingham Palace, the King expressed “deepest concern” over the situation, emphasizing that the matter should be handled through a “full, fair and proper process.” He added that the royal family would fully cooperate with authorities if required, while refraining from further comment as the investigation proceeds.
Police have not officially named the individual arrested, but confirmed they detained a man in his sixties in connection with the case. The investigation reportedly relates to allegations that Andrew shared confidential information during his time as the United Kingdom’s trade envoy with the late Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing regarding his past associations with Epstein. The development follows earlier scrutiny tied to documents and correspondence released by the U.S. Department of Justice, which prompted renewed calls for investigation.
The arrest marks an unprecedented moment in modern British royal history, with Andrew believed to be the first senior royal to face such action. Buckingham Palace reiterated its position that it would support law enforcement authorities as necessary, while the King and senior members of the royal family continue their official duties.
