Brandi Glanville has revealed that her long-running facial health crisis, which she previously believed was caused by a parasite, was actually triggered by ruptured breast implants that leaked silicone into her body.

The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star shared that the implants, which she had for roughly two decades, had silently ruptured and leaked into her lymph nodes, leading to blockage, swelling and infection in her face. According to her account, the silicone buildup prevented proper lymphatic drainage, contributing to the severe facial changes that left her searching for answers for years.

Glanville has been open about the physical and emotional toll the condition took on her, documenting facial swelling, disfigurement and the financial burden of extensive medical testing and treatments. For years, she believed she was suffering from a mysterious parasite under her skin, undergoing numerous procedures and consultations while trying to determine the cause.

Doctors eventually discovered that both implants were compromised, one with a slow leak and the other fully ruptured, allowing silicone to spread into her lymphatic system. Medical professionals warned that the issue could become life-threatening if not addressed quickly, prompting urgent surgery to remove the implants.

The revelation has helped explain the confusing mix of symptoms Glanville experienced, including facial swelling, infection and systemic health issues. The reality star has since undergone treatment to repair the damage and says she is now on the road to recovery after finally receiving a clear diagnosis.

Glanville has also used her experience to warn others about the importance of maintaining and regularly replacing breast implants, noting that long-term complications can arise when they are left in place beyond the recommended time frame.
