Pepsi introduces healthier prebiotic cola with added fiber

Pepsi is officially launching its newest innovation: Pepsi Prebiotic Cola, a modern twist on its classic soft drink made with significantly less sugar and added functional ingredients.

The new lineup, now available nationwide, comes in two flavors, Original and Cherry Vanilla. and is designed to deliver the brand’s signature cola taste while catering to more health-conscious consumers.

Announced last summer as part of the company’s push toward “better-for-you” beverages, Pepsi Prebiotic Cola contains 5 grams of sugar per 12-ounce can, compared to 39 grams in a regular Pepsi. Each can has 30 calories, 3 grams of prebiotic fiber and no artificial sweeteners.

PepsiCo Beverages US CEO Ram Krishnan previously described the launch as “the next leap forward” for the brand, emphasizing that the formula was crafted to maintain the iconic Pepsi flavor while offering consumers more choice and functional ingredients.

Unlike popular gut-health sodas such as Poppi. which PepsiCo acquired last year, Pepsi’s prebiotic version does not include apple cider vinegar. The company says the goal was to preserve the traditional cola profile fans expect.

Early reviewers have described the new sodas as surprisingly close to the original, with some noting they would consider switching from regular Pepsi.

Pepsi Prebiotic Cola is available in 12-ounce single cans and eight-packs at retailers nationwide and online, with prices varying by location.
