Karachi. Minister for Universities, Muhammad Ismail Rahoo, has taken a strict stance on the appointment of Pro Vice-Chancellors (PVCs) and acting Vice-Chancellors (VCs) in public universities. He announced that no Vice-Chancellor of a government university will now be allowed to assign the charge of a Pro Vice-Chancellor at their discretion.
All appointments will require the prior approval of the controlling authority, the CM. Vice-Chancellors of all universities must submit a panel of three senior professors to the govt for each vacant position.
