Pindi records negative polio samples
The District Health Authority has achieved notable success in the recently concluded anti-dengue and polio campaign in Rawalpindi district.
No deaths were reported during the dengue season, while all environmental samples for polio tested negative. Health workers involved in the campaign were awarded appreciation certificates and shields.
A ceremony organised by the District Health Authority to mark the successful campaign was attended by a large number of health workers, who pledged to defeat dengue and polio again next year.
Addressing the ceremony, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry said significant progress had been made in resolving health sector issues in Rawalpindi under the vision of the Punjab chief minister.
He added that next year the longstanding issue of Nullah Leh, which contributes to health problems, would be addressed under the chief minister's vision.
After distributing certificates and shields among health workers along with MNA Begum Tahira Aurangzeb and Punjab's Anti-Polio Coordinator MPA Uzma Kardar, Barrister Daniyal said their team believed in delivery rather than criticism and agitation.
He said the health sector had delivered results despite limited resources and would continue to perform better in future.
