Claudia Jessie shares her favourite memory on Bridgerton set and it involves Jonathan Bailey
Bailey, who wasn’t even supposed to be in the scene, decided to turn a carriage scene into a comedy moment

Claudia Jessie is giving fans a peek behind the scenes of Bridgerton, and her favorite on-set memory is every bit as chaotic and charming as viewers might hope thanks to her co-star Jonathan Bailey.
Jessie, who plays Eloise Bridgerton in the hit period drama, recently recalled a moment from filming that left the entire cast in stitches. The scene itself was meant to be a standard carriage sequence, complete with a green screen and the illusion of rolling countryside.
“Yeah, there was this one time we were in a carriage and we were behind, we had like a green screen behind us,” Jessie explained. “And Johnny Bailey, because obviously we’re static, and they’re going to put like the rolling, tumbling countryside outside of us…”
But Bailey, who wasn’t even supposed to be in the scene, decided to turn it into a comedy moment.
“Johnny, he wasn’t even in the scene, just started running up alongside the carriage being like, 'Eloise! You’ve forgotten your Tamagotchi,’” Jessie said, laughing.
The unexpected interruption broke everyone’s composure. “Then we all just died laughing in this carriage,” she added.
The anecdote highlights the playful bond shared by the Bridgerton cast, whose off-screen camaraderie has often been credited as part of the show’s enduring charm. For fans of Eloise and Anthony Bridgerton alike, Jessie’s story offers a delightful reminder that even in the most meticulously staged Regency-era scenes, there’s always room for a little unscripted humor.
