Breezy Johnson gets engaged after boyfriend proposes at 2026 Winter Olympics finish line
Johnson acknowledged that she had once 'always kind of had the dream of getting engaged at the Olympics'

Olympic skier Breezy Johnson turned what was already a memorable day at the 2026 Winter Olympics into something even more extraordinary — her boyfriend, Connor Watkins, proposed to her at the finish line moments after her final race.
Just minutes after Johnson crashed during the women’s super-G event in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Watkins, who had been planning the moment for about a year, appeared in the finish area and got down on one knee, presenting a silver engagement ring with a blue gem at its center.
A wooden plaque he brought with the ring featured a line from Taylor Swift’s song The Alchemy: “Honestly, who are we to fight the alchemy?”
A tearful Johnson said yes, embraced Watkins and shared a celebratory kiss as teammates and officials cheered nearby. Speaking with NBC after the proposal, she acknowledged that she had once “always kind of had the dream of getting engaged at the Olympics,” and added, “I mean, that was my hope! But it’s definitely a lot more crazy with everything just happening all at once, and the reality of it is so different than the way you imagined, and so much better.”
Watkins told reporters that his goal was to propose in the finish area “the way I wanted,” and that everything came together exactly as he hoped. Johnson’s engagement comes after a standout Olympic week in which she previously won gold in the women’s downhill and competed in other alpine skiing events, making the moment even more special.
The finish-line proposal has quickly become one of the most joyful personal highlights of the Milan-Cortina Games, blending athletic achievement with a deeply personal milestone for Johnson and Watkins.
