First look at 'The Lady' trailer: Mia McKenna-Bruce, Natalie Dormer star in new series
Dormer is portraying Sarah Ferguson while McKenna-Bruce plays her dresser and personal aide to the former duchess

The first trailer for The Lady, an upcoming BritBox limited series, has been released, offering a closer look at the real-life scandal at the center of the four-part drama. The series stars Mia McKenna-Bruce as Jane Andrews and Natalie Dormer as Sarah, Duchess of York.
The Lady follows the rise and fall of Jane Andrews, a working-class woman from Grimsby who answered a job advertisement in The Lady magazine and secured a prestigious role as dresser and personal aide to Sarah Ferguson during her time as Duchess of York.
Over nearly a decade working within royal circles, Andrews gained access to elite society before her life dramatically unraveled following a turbulent romance.
McKenna-Bruce portrays Andrews’ transformation from a hopeful young aide navigating palace life to the central figure in a sensational murder case. Dormer takes on the role of Sarah Ferguson, dramatizing the dynamic between the Duchess and her trusted employee.
The trailer teases the emotional and legal fallout that followed Andrews’ relationship with Thomas Cressman, played by Ed Speleers. The preview raises the central question of the case, asking whether Andrews could have killed the man she loved, setting the stage for a gripping retelling of one of Britain’s most high-profile early 2000s trials.
Written by Debbie O’Malley and directed by Lee Haven Jones, The Lady explores themes of class, ambition, power and the fragility of status. The series is set to premiere on BritBox in 2026.
