Tekken star Arslan Ash relocates to Japan as new competitive base

E-sports icon says Japan will be his new base as he targets more global titles, while still representing Pakistan

Pakistan's e-sports icon Arslan Siddique, popularly known as Arslan Ash, has moved to Japan, saying he wants to compete at the “highest level” while continuing to travel internationally and that he will keep representing Pakistan.

A Japanese press release issued on Monday said the Pakistani fighting-game player has travelled to Japan to make it a key hub for his next phase of competition, after posting elite results in Tekken 7 and continuing into Tekken 8.

The statement said he has signed an agreement with Global Agency Co., Ltd. for agent services and player management in the Asia-Pacific region, with Japan expected to be “one of his key activity bases” as he enters international tournaments and engages more closely with the competitive scene.

In a message included with the release, Arslan Ash said his decision was based on travel convenience for tournaments, a safe and stable living environment, and day-to-day access to high-level practice, adding that he expected to continue travelling between Pakistan and Japan.

Who is Arslan Ash?

Arslan Ash is one of the most decorated players in competitive Tekken, credited with bringing Pakistan’s scene into the global spotlight after his breakthrough international wins in 2019.

He is listed as a seven-time Evolution Championship Series champion, with major titles spanning multiple editions and regions, a record that has helped cement his reputation as one of the game’s all-time greats.

More recently, his results have continued across the transition to Tekken 8, including headline wins at major EVO events in 2024 and 2025, according to Pakistani and international esports coverage.

He has also captured the Tekken World Tour Finals title (2023), a win often treated as one of the toughest achievements in the Tekken calendar because it brings together the season’s best performers.
