LAHORE:

The office of the deputy commissioner (DC) of Lahore has imposed a strict ban on Basant-related activities near airport flight paths.

A meeting was held at the DC Lahore office to review measures to prevent Basant festivities in the vicinity of airports, with the PAA officials attending. The meeting agreed on implementing a zero-tolerance policy for kite-flying around airport areas.

The district administration lauded the PAA for its efforts in safeguarding aviation operations, while stakeholders emphasised the need for effective and sustained collaboration to maintain long-term aviation safety.

Authorities warned that any violation of the ban could lead to strict legal action, underlining the importance of keeping flight paths clear during the Basant festival.
