Prime Video has released the first trailer and key art for Young Sherlock, an upcoming eight-episode series exploring the early life of Sherlock Holmes.

Directed by Guy Ritchie, the series offers a fresh, action-packed take on the iconic detective, set before his famous adventures on Baker Street.

Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After) stars as a rebellious, youthful Sherlock, described by Prime Video as an “anarchic adolescent” version of the detective—brilliant, defiant, and not yet the calculating mastermind familiar to audiences. The story follows Sherlock as he encounters his first major case, which leads him into a dangerous murder investigation and a global conspiracy. The plot also introduces a young James Moriarty, setting up the legendary rivalry that will define Holmes’ future.

Set in Victorian England, Young Sherlock promises a visually vibrant experience, combining historical detail with high-stakes action. The cast also includes Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech).

Guy Ritchie directs the first two episodes and serves as an executive producer. Showrunner Matthew Parkhill co-executive produces alongside Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson, with Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson as co-executive producers. Physical production is led by Motive Pictures.
