The National Football League has confirmed that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents will not be conducting any planned enforcement operations during Super Bowl LX activities, even as the game draws near and political tensions surrounding immigration policy linger.

At a press briefing ahead of Sunday’s big game at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, NFL chief security officer Cathy L. Lanier made clear that ICE is not scheduled to be part of the security presence for the Super Bowl or any related events throughout the week. “There are no planned ICE or immigration enforcement operations that are scheduled around the Super Bowl or any of the Super Bowl‑related events,” Lanier said, adding that the league is “confident” ICE will not be present.

Lanier emphasized that security coordination for the event — which will feature tens of thousands of fans and the highly anticipated Bad Bunny halftime show — will instead include more than three dozen other federal, state, and local agencies focused on public safety and crowd management.

The announcement comes amid earlier comments from Department of Homeland Security officials, including Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, who in late 2025 suggested that ICE agents would be “all over” the Super Bowl — remarks that drew criticism from immigrant-rights advocates and fans alike.

Bad Bunny himself has been vocal about immigration enforcement policies, using his platform at the 2026 Grammy Awards to call for ICE to be removed from communities and highlighting concerns about immigrant safety in the U.S. His remarks amplified public debate about ICE’s potential presence at major events.

Advocacy groups pressed the NFL in recent weeks to explicitly keep immigration enforcement officers out of the event, with one petition gathering nearly 200,000 signatures urging the league to ensure fans can enjoy the Super Bowl without fear of immigration crackdowns.

While federal immigration enforcement will not be part of Super Bowl security plans, federal agencies including the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and ATF will still support local authorities in broader public-safety efforts typical of large-scale events.
