A24 has released the first trailer for The Drama, a dark comedy starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson whose wedding plans spiral out of control due to a long-hidden secret.

Directed and written by Kristoffer Borgli, the film will debut in theaters on April 3, 2026.

Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, a bookstore employee from Louisiana with a Boston University English degree, while Pattinson stars as Charlie Thompson, a British museum director overseeing the Cambridge Art Museum. The narrative follows the couple in the critical days leading up to their wedding, as Emma’s secret threatens to upend their relationship entirely. A24 promoted the film through a fictional engagement announcement in the Boston Globe, revealing key character details.

The supporting cast includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, and Succession alum Zoë Winters, who portrays a wedding photographer. Production took place across Massachusetts — featuring Boston’s Newbury Street and Andover’s Addison Gallery of American Art — as well as New York City and Los Angeles.

Zendaya and Pattinson have a busy 2026 ahead, with two additional projects pairing the duo: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, releasing July 17 via Universal Pictures, and Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three set for December 18 from Warner Bros.

For Zendaya, The Drama follows her lead role in Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers and precedes the third season of HBO’s Euphoria and the upcoming Marvel film Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Pattinson was most recently seen in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love alongside Jennifer Lawrence.

With a mix of humor, romance, and suspense, The Drama positions itself as one of A24’s most anticipated releases of the year, promising fans a chaotic, emotionally charged wedding story.
