PMD warns of severe cold, snowfall in upper K-P districts
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast cold and partly cloudy weather in most districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, with the possibility of severe cold in the upper mountainous areas on Tuesday.
Light rain and snowfall accompanied by winds are expected in Chitral (Upper and Lower), Upper Dir, Swat, Shangla, Abbottabad, and Kohistan (Upper and Lower), the department said.
Strong winds, light rain with thunder and lightning, and light snowfall over the mountains are likely in Kolai-Palas, Torghar, Battagram, Mansehra, and Kurram districts. In districts including Sawabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, and Dera Ismail Khan, fog is expected in some areas during the night and early morning.

The Meteorological Department has reported minimum temperatures across the region as follows: Kalam -6°C, Malam Jabba -5°C, Parachinar and Durosh -1°C, and Chitral 0°C.
Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold and travel carefully in foggy and hilly areas.
For most parts of Pakistan, the PMD forecast has said that cold and dry weather is to persist. However, isolated rain and light snowfall may occur in Gilgit-Baltistan, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding areas.
In Islamabad, cold and partly cloudy conditions are expected, with light rain or drizzle possible at isolated places during the afternoon and evening.
