COAS vows to boost ties with Libya
Libyan delegation calls on CDF at GHQ

A delegation of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Monday and exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
The Libyan delegation included Field Marshal Khalifa Abu al-Qasim Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, and Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, the statement said.
The meeting was held in a cordial and constructive atmosphere, reflecting the longstanding friendly relations between Pakistan and Libya, the ISPR said. The dignitary also paid homage to Shuhada and laid wreath at the Martyrs Memorial at the GHQ, it added.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on security dynamics in respective regions and professional cooperation, the ISPR said, adding the discussion underscored the importance of continued engagement and collaboration between the two armed forces.
Field Marshal Asim Munir welcomed the guests and reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Libya. He emphasised Pakistan's support for peace, stability, and institutional development in Libya, the news release added.
Separately, Major General Mohammed Bin Saeed Al-Moghedi, Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC), called on the COAS, at GHQ, Rawalpindi, the ISPR said in a separate statement.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest were discussed, with particular emphasis on regional security dynamics and enhanced cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, the statement added.
Both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to combating terrorism and extremism through collaborative strategies, intelligence sharing, and capacity building among member states.
Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated the role of IMCTC in fostering stability and promoting coordinated counter-terrorism initiatives across the Islamic world, the statement said.
