Nicki Minaj reacted publicly after Trevor Noah referenced her and President Donald Trump during his opening monologue at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday evening.

Noah, who was hosting the ceremony for the sixth consecutive year, began his routine by acknowledging prominent figures in the audience before turning his attention to Minaj’s absence. He told the crowd, “Nicki Minaj is not here,” prompting applause and laughter, as the camera cut to Chrissy Teigen gesturing approval.

He continued with a pointed remark, saying, “She is still at the White House with Donald Trump discussing very important issues,” before shifting his focus to the president. Addressing the audience, Noah said, “I believe in term limits,” adding, “Leave when your time is up,” which drew further reaction from those in attendance.

Noah then impersonated Trump, telling the crowd, “Actually Nicki I have the biggest ass,” in a moment that was met with continued applause inside the venue.

Minaj later took to X to respond with a series of posts directed at Noah and others. In one message, she wrote, “Trevor refuses to come out the closet when everyone in the industry knows his boyfriend,” referencing both Noah and music executive Jay-Z.

The singer also commented on Teigen’s reaction during the broadcast, posting, “Everyone knows Chrissy Tiegan has/had a dik. Allegedly.” Minaj followed with additional politically themed messages aimed at critics throughout the evening.

Tensions between Minaj and Jay-Z have previously surfaced, particularly in 2025, when Minaj alleged that the music mogul owed her more than $200 million in unpaid interest related to her music.

The exchange marked one of the most discussed moments of the night, as Noah’s monologue and Minaj’s online responses quickly circulated across social media following the broadcast.
