Football: YRC thrash Balochistan 9-0

Defending Champions Young Rising Star (YRS) FC defeated Balochistan 9-0 in the National Women’s Football Championship yesterday. Asmara Habib and Malika Noor both scored three goals apiece, while Sehar Zaman, Nabila Hashmi and Mahapara also scored a goal each to add insult to injury. “We are not taking anything for granted,” YRS captain Sana Mahmud told The Express Tribune. “Diya Club and Islamabad are also tough teams to compete against. We have trained for two months prior to the championship and we are hoping that we will be able to
successfully defend our title here.” In the second match of the day, Punjab got a walk-over against Margala FC while Islamabad drew their match against Diya FC.
