KARACHI:

Jamaat-e-Islami staged a protest rally in Kandhkot on Saturday to condemn the rising drug menace and demand immediate government action. The rally was led by JI Sindh Provincial General Secretary Muhammad Yousuf and witnessed participation from party workers, political and social leaders, nationalist and minority representatives, and local residents.

Participants raised slogans against drug trafficking and called for urgent measures to curb the spread of narcotics in the city and surrounding areas.

Addressing the participants, Yousuf said drugs are pushing the youth toward destruction, leading to an increase in crime, moral decay, and social disorder.

He criticised the government for neglecting the issue, adding that the drug trade continues openly due to alleged backing from influential quarters.

JI Kandhkot District Amir Ghulam Mustafa Mirani warned that drugs not only destroy people but also ruin families and society at large.

He said authorities have failed to perform their duties and cautioned that without strict action, future generations would bear the consequences.
