A young girl knocked over a massive tower made from 63,000 beer coasters that took a German artist more than a month to build, according to a viral video.

The structure was created by artist Benjamin Klapper, 49, at the Rhein-Center shopping mall in Cologne, Germany, as part of an attempt to break a Guinness World Record.

Klapper said he spent about 120 hours constructing the tower, which he began building on Oct. 31 and finished on Dec. 8.

The tower collapsed on Jan. 10 after the girl pulled out a single coaster, causing the entire structure to fall.

Klapper later explained that the tower had already partially collapsed under its own weight and could not qualify for the world record. As a result, visitors were invited to remove coasters from the remaining structure as part of a game.

The girl, who was the daughter of one of Klapper’s helpers, brought the tower down on her first attempt.

Although the attempt failed, Klapper said the project was still a personal milestone. The current Guinness World Record is held by German artist Sven Goebel, who built a tower using 70,000 beer coasters in 2004.
