Epstein documents allege Bill Gates sought STD treatment, claims denied by Gates
Newly released Justice Department documents include claims by Jeffrey Epstein alleging that Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates sought treatment for sexually transmitted diseases following encounters with “Russian girls,” allegations Gates’ representatives have categorically denied.
The claims appear in draft emails written by Epstein in July 2013, released Friday as part of a 3.5-million-page tranche of Epstein-related records. Epstein appeared to be drafting a statement in the voice of Gates’ longtime science adviser, Boris Nikolic, describing alleged misconduct involving Gates.
In the draft, Epstein claimed Nikolic had helped Gates obtain medication to treat STDs and alleged Gates asked him to secretly provide antibiotics to then-wife Melinda French Gates. Epstein also accused Gates of attempting to cover up the alleged conduct to protect his public reputation.
“These claims are absolutely absurd and completely false,” a spokesperson for Gates said in response. The spokesperson added that the documents reflect Epstein’s efforts to “entrap and defame” Gates after failing to maintain a relationship with him.
The DOJ documents include multiple versions of the same draft email, dated July 17–18, 2013. There is no evidence the drafts were ever sent, nor has the DOJ verified Epstein’s claims.
Epstein previously threatened to expose Gates’ alleged affair with Russian bridge player Mila Antonova, reportedly over Gates’ refusal to join a charitable fund Epstein was promoting, according to earlier reporting by The Wall Street Journal.
Gates has acknowledged meeting Epstein in the past but has said doing so was “a huge mistake.” Melinda French Gates has also said she regretted meeting Epstein and described him as “abhorrent.”
Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in federal custody in 2019.
