Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are already looking ahead to what could come next for Heated Rivalry.

In a recent joint interview with Teen Vogue, the two stars opened up about the moments they would most like to see explored if the hit gay hockey romance continues beyond its first season.

Both actors pointed to Rachel Reid’s novel The Long Game, which continues the story of Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov after the events of Heated Rivalry. Storrie revealed that the follow-up book holds a special place for him, calling it his personal favorite in the series and expressing a desire to adapt it in full.

“I would just love to do that whole book,” Storrie said, adding that he feels especially invested in that chapter of the characters’ journey.

Williams highlighted more specific scenes he hopes make it to the screen, including emotional family moments and a tense confrontation involving the league commissioner. He described wanting to fully lean into the character’s anger and competitive fire during those sequences, underlining how important hockey politics and personal stakes become in the later story.

Their comments have fueled fan speculation about the direction of a potential second season, with many viewers eager to see the deeper emotional fallout, public pressures, and long-term commitment between Shane and Ilya.

While no detailed plot for a new season has been officially announced, the actors’ enthusiasm for The Long Game suggests that, if the story continues, it could dive further into the couple’s life beyond secrecy and into the challenges of being together in the spotlight.
