Hudson Williams talks filming the iconic 'All The Things She Said' club scene on Heated Rivalry
Hudson Williams said that early attempts of the scene were so awkward he was told he looked "creepy"

Hudson Williams opened up about one of Heated Rivalry’s most memorable moments during a panel at the Prime Time 2026 gala in Ottawa, where the series and its cast were celebrated for their impact on Canadian film and television.
The actor, who plays Shane Hollander, recounted filming the scene in a crowded club where his character locks eyes with Ilya, played by Connor Storrie, across the dance floor. The scene, set to t.A.T.u.’s "All The Things She Said" and complemented by a rendition performed by Harrison, quickly became a fan favorite.
Williams admitted the scene was more challenging than it looked. “They were like, you look like a f‑ing serial killer,” he joked to the audience. “You look like you’re going to throw up.” He explained that keeping his eyes open and maintaining the intense stare required multiple takes, and early attempts were so awkward he was told he looked “creepy.”
Despite the challenges, the chemistry between Williams and Storrie helped make the scene unforgettable. Fans have praised the duo for their performances, noting how the music and choreography amplified the tension and emotional stakes on screen.
Williams shared the panel with the show’s co-creators, Brendan Brady and Jacob Tierney, as well as co-star Sophie Nélisse. The discussion also highlighted the show’s broader cultural resonance, particularly in its unapologetic depiction of queer relationships and the behind-the-scenes effort that went into capturing those moments authentically.
Earlier on the red carpet, Williams had presented Prime Minister Jack Carney with the viral Shane Hollander Team Canada fleece jacket, a piece of merchandise that has become emblematic of the series’ popularity.
