Shirley “Ms. Shirley” Raines, founder of Beauty 2 The Streetz, dies at 58

The Las Vegas community is mourning the loss of Shirley “Ms. Shirley” Raines, the beloved founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Beauty 2 The Streetz.

Raines was found unresponsive during a wellness check at her Henderson home on Tuesday night, according to her twin sister, Sheila. She was 58 years old.

Family members told TMZ that Raines had been in good health and was not taking any medication at the time of her death. While an autopsy is pending, authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected.

Beauty 2 The Streetz confirmed the news in an emotional Instagram post, sharing that the organization was experiencing “profound sorrow and heavy hearts.” The nonprofit, which has amassed more than 1.1 million followers across social media, is widely known for providing beauty, hygiene, and wellness services to people experiencing homelessness, particularly women and underserved communities.

Her work earned national recognition, including being named a CNN Hero and receiving an NAACP Award for her humanitarian efforts. Most recently, Raines had been active in Las Vegas, continuing her mission to serve those in need.
