The Las Vegas community is mourning the loss of Shirley “Ms. Shirley” Raines, the beloved founder and CEO of the nonprofit organization Beauty 2 The Streetz.

Raines was found unresponsive during a wellness check at her Henderson home on Tuesday night, according to her twin sister, Sheila. She was 58 years old.

Family members told TMZ that Raines had been in good health and was not taking any medication at the time of her death. While an autopsy is pending, authorities have stated that no foul play is suspected.

Beauty 2 The Streetz confirmed the news in an emotional Instagram post, sharing that the organization was experiencing “profound sorrow and heavy hearts.” The nonprofit, which has amassed more than 1.1 million followers across social media, is widely known for providing beauty, hygiene, and wellness services to people experiencing homelessness, particularly women and underserved communities.

Raines founded Beauty 2 The Streetz in 2018 after experiencing hardship in her own life. She often spoke publicly about using her past struggles as motivation to help others, describing her work as a way to turn “tragedy into triumph.” In a November interview with News 3, Raines emphasized the importance of dignity and compassion in outreach, noting that she understood firsthand what it felt like to need help.

Her work earned national recognition, including being named a CNN Hero and receiving an NAACP Award for her humanitarian efforts. Most recently, Raines had been active in Las Vegas, continuing her mission to serve those in need.

As tributes pour in, community members remember Ms. Shirley as a tireless advocate whose compassion, resilience, and commitment to service left a lasting impact.
