Japanese media previews for PokePark Kanto have gone live, offering the most detailed look yet at Pokémon’s first full-scale theme park ahead of its public opening on February 5, 2026.
First announced during a Pokémon Presents after being teased in 2023, PokePark Kanto covers around 26,000 square metres and is entirely themed around the Pokémon universe.
The park is located in Inagi City within the wider Yomiuriland complex, allowing visitors to combine traditional amusement rides with a slower-paced, Pokémon-focused experience.
On January 26, Famitsu published impressions from a hands-on preview, highlighting the scale and attention to detail across the park’s themed zones. One of the centrepieces is the Pokémon Forest area, which features wooded walking paths lined with full-scale Pokémon statues.
These include a life-size Pikachu playing beneath trees, Diglett emerging from the ground and Bidoof gnawing on tree trunks. According to the preview, more than 600 Pokémon populate the forest, with many featuring voice effects to create an immersive atmosphere.
Sedge Town acts as the park’s main hub, presenting urban-style displays inspired by memorable moments from the Pokémon anime. These include Squirtle Squad-inspired scenes, Smeargle-themed artwork and scaled battle dioramas featuring multiple Pokémon.
Famitsu also reports that scheduled parades will take place in this area, with oversized Pikachu and Eevee mascots appearing for performances.
Food stalls throughout the park will offer Pokémon-themed items such as Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur ice cream floats, a Snorlax popcorn bucket, waffles and sushi.
Visitors will also find a Pokémon Center staffed by a real-life Nurse Joy, where guests can present six Poké Balls on a tray to have their Pokémon “healed”.
