Billie Eilish calls out fellow celebrities over silence on ICE

Billie Eilish has publicly criticized fellow celebrities for what she described as a lack of vocal support on issues surrounding U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while also alleging that TikTok is suppressing political content.
Eilish reposted a video featuring her brother and longtime collaborator Finneas, in which he spoke about ICE terror in the United States. Alongside the clip, Eilish wrote: “hey my fellow celebrities u gonna speak up? or,” directly calling on other high-profile figures to address the issue.
The artist also shared a screenshot from TikTok showing the video’s engagement numbers at the time she viewed it—114 likes, 20 comments, and five shares. The figures are unusually low given Finneas’ global profile and large following. Eilish added the caption: “tiktok is silencing people btw".

The platform has previously stated that it does not suppress content based on political viewpoints, though creators have long alleged inconsistent moderation and reduced reach on sensitive topics.
Eilish and Finneas have a history of publicly supporting global humanitarian causes. Both have spoken out in favor of Palestinian and Sudanese civilians amid ongoing conflicts, frequently using their social media platforms to amplify activist voices and fundraising efforts.
Eilish’s latest comments align with her broader criticism of wealth inequality and institutional power. At the Wall Street Journal Innovator Awards in October 2025, she sharply criticized billionaires for hoarding wealth, urging them to “give your money away” to those in need. Speaking to an audience that included tech executives such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Eilish questioned the purpose of extreme wealth accumulation and called for fortunes to be used for social good. During her remarks, she also announced that she had donated approximately $11.5 million from her tour earnings to various causes.
As debates around immigration enforcement, social media moderation, and celebrity activism continue to intensify, Eilish’s remarks have once again placed her at the center of a broader conversation about who speaks up—and who stays silent—during moments of political and humanitarian crisis.
