Rapper Nicki Minaj is set to appear alongside President Donald Trump at an upcoming presidential summit in Washington, D.C., continuing her public support of his administration, according to reporting by Hannah Dailey.
Minaj confirmed her participation on Saturday, Jan. 24, by resharing an official event announcement on X. The summit, scheduled for Wednesday at the Mellon Auditorium, will mark the rollout of “Trump Accounts,” a new government-backed personal retirement savings initiative created under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Trump and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent are slated to serve as the event’s primary speakers.
In a subsequent post, Minaj expressed enthusiasm about joining a guest list that includes Kevin O’Leary of Shark Tank, Curb Your Enthusiasm actor Cheryl Hines, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, and White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Hines is married to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Calling the initiative “the true meaning of paying it forward,” Minaj emphasized the importance of early financial education and investment opportunities for children. She wrote that financial literacy at a young age could provide families with long-term benefits, sometimes even enabling children to educate their parents about investing. The 12-time Grammy nominee added that the initiative made her “very happy.”
Minaj has remained outspoken in her backing of Trump’s policies during his return to office, despite criticism and controversy surrounding her political alignment. Following her appearance at a Turning Point USA event with conservative commentator Erika Kirk, a petition calling for her deportation — citing her Trinidadian birth and past statements about not being a U.S. citizen — reportedly gathered tens of thousands of signatures.
Earlier this month, Minaj also drew backlash for social media posts targeting journalist Don Lemon, who was reporting on a protest related to ICE in Minneapolis. In November, she appeared at a United Nations event where she praised Trump for highlighting concerns about the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.
The summit appearance further underscores Minaj’s continued involvement in political advocacy tied closely to the Trump administration.
