IKEA social media post sparks speculation over Animal Crossing: New Horizons crossover
Fans speculate about new Animal Crossing: New Horizons collaboration after detailed IKEA social media post

Animal Crossing: New Horizons fans are speculating about a possible promotional crossover with IKEA following a recent post from one of the furniture retailer’s official social media accounts.
Update 3.0 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released less than two weeks ago on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
While the update introduced a range of new features, some players believe further content or promotion could be on the way, prompted by renewed activity from IKEA referencing the game.
The latest speculation stems from a post shared by the official IKEA France TikTok account. The video features a carefully edited Animal Crossing-style presentation showcasing recognisable IKEA furniture recreated within the game’s aesthetic.
The clip also includes music that closely resembles the Animal Crossing: New Horizons soundtrack, adding to fan discussion about its intent.
The post was originally highlighted by Polygon and has since circulated widely among the Animal Crossing community. Fans have pointed to the level of detail and production quality as evidence that the video may be more than a casual social media reference.
IKEA has previously referenced Animal Crossing on multiple occasions. Most notably, shortly after the game’s original release, IKEA Taiwan recreated its entire product catalogue using in-game imagery from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The campaign attracted significant attention and was widely shared online.
Despite the renewed speculation, no official announcement has been made by Nintendo regarding a crossover. Nintendo is generally selective when it comes to external promotional collaborations, with limited examples appearing in its games.
Some fans believe the post reflects IKEA’s continued engagement with gaming culture rather than a confirmed partnership. Others argue the effort involved suggests something more deliberate.
Until Nintendo responds or confirms any collaboration, the nature of the IKEA post remains unverified.
