Harry Styles is opening up about the creative influences behind his soon-to-be-released fourth studio album Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., saying his latest work grew out of nights out, diverse musical experiences, and a desire to make music that feels as alive onstage as it does in the studio.

Speaking to Capital Breakfast, Styles said the sound of his new project came from spending time in Berlin, meeting “a lot of fun and interesting people and hearing a lot of different kinds of music.” He explained, “I kind of just started feeling how that was influencing the music I was making.”

The pop star also shared his broader goal for the album was rooted in the energy of live performance. “I was just kind of loving what I felt like it would allow me to do on stage and just be really immersed in the music,” Styles said. “That was kind of the goal — to make an album that I could enjoy playing as much as I enjoyed making it.”

In another interview, Styles spoke more about the album’s title and the playful philosophy behind it. On BBC Radio 1, he likened the phrase “kiss all the time” to a life approach, joking that it’s a kind of mantra: “It’s unhealthy to disco all the time so loving and moving through your life with love and then taking a break every now and again to have some fun is a really good way to approach your life.”

Styles also explained the quirky title with a humorous analogy, saying, “You could say it’s like ‘drink water all the time. But you’re gonna have to pee occasionally.’” He added, “You can have a break from kissing, but you could also drink water while you’re peeing… the idea is that you can take a break from kissing to disco.”

The new album, which reflects a sonic shift toward dance-influenced sounds and creative reinvigoration, is set for release on March 6, 2026.
