Independent wrestling veteran TC Reynolds passes away at 55

Independent wrestling veteran TC Reynolds, remembered for his time as Doink the Clown, has died, according to reports

Veteran professional wrestler TC Reynolds has died, according to a report from PWInsider.

Reynolds was widely respected within the independent wrestling scene, particularly in the Pittsburgh area, where he built a reputation as a consistent and well-liked performer. Details surrounding the cause of his death have not been publicly disclosed at this time.

Reynolds trained under renowned wrestling figures Dominic DeNucci and Gator “Geeto” Mongo, later competing extensively across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. During his in-ring career, he worked under several ring names, including Thunderbolt and Battman, before becoming most recognized for portraying Doink the Clown on the independent circuit.

While Reynolds made occasional appearances for WWE, his tenure with the company primarily involved enhancement roles. Despite limited exposure on major televised platforms, he remained a familiar presence at local wrestling events and gained respect for his dedication to the craft. His portrayal of Doink the Clown became especially popular, as he was one of several performers who adopted the gimmick following its prominence in WWE.

After stepping away from professional wrestling, Reynolds worked for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. He also remained connected to the industry by training younger wrestlers, some of whom went on to achieve broader recognition.

Tributes from the wrestling community have begun to surface following the news of his passing. ECW and WWE alumnus The Blue Meanie shared a message remembering Reynolds as a respected locker-room presence and credited him with helping advance his own career.

TC Reynolds is remembered not only for his performances but also for his influence behind the scenes. The wrestling world continues to mourn his sudden loss.
