Kim Kardashian has quietly shifted the narrative around one of pop culture’s most infamous celebrity feuds, revealing that she has long admired Taylor Swift’s music despite their turbulent past.
Speaking on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, Khloé in Wonder Land, Kim admitted that Swift’s songs have a place on her personal playlists.
The conversation took a lighthearted turn when Khloé suggested fans would be surprised by the confession, prompting Kim to acknowledge that while she may have mentioned it before, the revelation still tends to catch people off guard.
Kim explained that her appreciation for Swift’s work isn’t new, noting that she has always considered the singer a highly skilled and accomplished artist. She shared that she particularly enjoys some of Swift’s earlier tracks, praising her consistency and talent over the years.
The remarks stand in contrast to the highly publicized fallout that unfolded in 2016, when Kim became embroiled in a controversy involving her then-husband Kanye West and Swift. The dispute stemmed from West’s song Famous, which referenced Swift in lyrics that sparked backlash and debate over consent and context.
While West insisted the singer had approved the lyrics, Swift denied the claim, leading to a prolonged public rift.
Time, however, appears to have softened perspectives. Kim’s comments suggest a willingness to separate past conflicts from present opinions, especially when it comes to acknowledging artistic merit. Her admiration for Swift predates the feud as well; years earlier, she openly described herself as a fan and spoke positively about the pop star in interviews.
Following her divorce from West, finalized in 2022, Kim has increasingly reframed her public image independently of past controversies.
Her latest admission signals a quieter, more reflective stance, one that recognizes Taylor Swift’s influence and success, regardless of old tensions.
