Victoria Beckham wedding dance with Brooklyn sparks conflicting accounts amid family feud
Sources dispute Brooklyn Beckham’s claims about wedding dance incident with Victoria Beckham

New details have surfaced regarding the long-discussed wedding reception moment involving Brooklyn Beckham, his wife Nicola Peltz, and his mother, Victoria Beckham, with sources offering differing accounts of what occurred during the couple’s 2022 Palm Beach wedding.
According to sources who spoke with Page Six, a planned “special” dance moment for Brooklyn Beckham and Peltz was disrupted when singer Marc Anthony invited Brooklyn onto the stage and called for “the most beautiful woman in the room” to join him — identified as Victoria Beckham rather than the bride. One guest alleged that Victoria danced closely with her son, including wrapping her arms around him and “nuzzling” his neck, which they described as inappropriate.
The same source claimed the moment caused visible distress for Peltz, who allegedly left the reception area in tears before later returning. The guest stated that reactions in the room appeared divided, with members of the Beckham family cheering while the Peltz side remained subdued. Brooklyn later described the incident in an Instagram statement as humiliating and said he felt deeply uncomfortable.
However, other sources disputed this characterization, telling Page Six that the dance in question was not the couple’s official first dance. According to these accounts, Brooklyn and Nicola had already danced together earlier in the evening, and the moment involving Victoria occurred during a broader family dance that also included David Beckham and their daughter Harper. These sources denied that Victoria’s behavior was inappropriate and described the scene as a spontaneous family interaction.
Brooklyn addressed the wedding incident as part of a wider public statement released on Monday, in which he accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of interfering in his marriage and misrepresenting events in the press. He also alleged that his mother canceled plans to make Nicola’s wedding dress shortly before the ceremony, forcing the bride to seek an alternative.
Contradicting that claim, Nicola’s stylist Leslie Fremar previously told Vogue that the Valentino gown Nicola ultimately wore was developed over the course of a year and involved multiple fittings. Fremar’s account suggests the decision not to wear a Victoria Beckham design was planned well in advance.
Representatives for Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham, as well as for David and Victoria Beckham, were contacted for comment, according to Page Six.
The resurfacing of the wedding controversy follows Brooklyn’s revelation that he and Nicola later held a private vow renewal ceremony in August 2025 at a Peltz family property in Westchester County, New York, which he said was intended to replace painful memories from their original wedding day with more positive ones.
