Two held in triple murder case

Police say victims poisoned, strangled over financial dispute

LAHORE:

Police claimed to have solved the murder of a man and his two sons in the Kahna area, arresting two suspects, including a woman, officials said on Monday.

The development was disclosed by SP Investigation Model Town Shahid Nawaz Warraich during a press conference.

He said the arrests were made by the investigation in-charge of Kahna police station and his team following a successful operation.

According to the SP, preliminary investigations revealed that the main suspect had a financial dispute with the victims.

The deceased were identified as Nauman and his two sons, Imran and Kamran, whose bodies were recovered from their residence earlier this week.

Warraich said the prime suspect was serving as a polio block in-charge in the health department, while the arrested woman was working as a polio worker.

Police claimed that the suspects acted in collusion and visited the victims' house, where they mixed sedative pills into juice and offered it to them.

"After consuming the juice, all three victims fell unconscious," the SP said, adding that the suspects then allegedly strangled Nauman and his sons, causing their deaths.

Police further alleged that after committing the murders, the suspects transferred Rs3 million from the victims' bank accounts to their own using a mobile banking application.

The bodies were discovered several days later in a decomposed condition, prompting a homicide investigation.

The SP said relevant evidence had been recovered and further investigation was under way to determine whether any other individuals were involved.

He added that the case was registered on the complaint of Nauman's brother.

Warraich said the suspects would be prosecuted in accordance with the law and police would seek maximum punishment on the basis of available evidence.
