Low student turnout on first day of school

Educational activities resume across Rawalpindi following winter vacations

RAWALPINDI:

After the long winter vacations, all government and private schools and colleges across the district reopened as per routine on Monday, restoring academic activity in educational institutions.

With the reopening of schools, traffic congestion and disruptions outside schools during opening and closing hours also re-emerged. Traffic jams were once again reported on roads in school areas.

On the first day, the attendance of teachers and non-teaching staff remained normal and comparatively higher, while the attendance of students was lower than usual. From Tuesday, student attendance is expected to return to normal. Teaching activities have also resumed in educational institutions.

Education officers visited various schools on Monday and checked the attendance of teachers and non-teaching staff.

Chief Executive Officer of the District Education Authority, Tariq Mahmood, said that there will be no holidays now until the annual examinations and urged students to focus fully on their studies.
