Brooklyn Beckham has released a public statement addressing his estrangement from parents David and Victoria Beckham, alleging long-standing control and media manipulation amid an ongoing family dispute.

In the statement, shared via Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old said he had remained silent for years in an effort to keep family matters private. He claimed that repeated press coverage attributed to his parents and their representatives left him with “no choice” but to speak publicly in order to clarify what he described as inaccuracies.

“I do not want to reconcile with my family,” Brooklyn stated, adding that he is “standing up for myself for the first time in my life.” He accused his parents of controlling narratives about their family through media coverage, social media posts, and public appearances, which he described as “performative.”

Brooklyn also alleged that his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, has been repeatedly disrespected by members of his family. He cited incidents surrounding their April 2022 wedding, claiming moments meant for the couple were altered without consent, leading to lasting emotional distress. He further alleged that efforts to spend private time with his father around milestone events were unsuccessful unless they took place in highly public settings.

The statement also referenced Brooklyn’s mental health, with the photographer and aspiring chef saying he experienced “overwhelming anxiety” growing up. He claimed that stepping back from family relationships has resulted in improved emotional well-being.

The remarks come amid visible social media changes, including Nicola Peltz removing references to the Beckham family from her Instagram account. Brooklyn has reportedly blocked some family members online, further underscoring the breakdown in communication.
