Nothing is sacred anymore (II)
LAHORE:
This is with reference to Naveen Naqvi’s “Nothing is sacred anymore” (July 3). Giving clerics unchecked freedom and facilitating their ill-informed sermons from the pulpit has led to the present state of affairs. Couldn’t our rulers and government functionaries’ sense danger when there was time? I can’t understand why they let this dangerous storm brew. Now, it’s impossible to put the genie back into the bottle. Unless, of course, there is a revolutionary movement for change, which makes one ponder – under present circumstances – who will be able to do this.
