Man dies in mysterious shooting incident

A young man allegedly shot himself dead under mysterious circumstances during a meeting with his fiancée in a private housing society within the limits of the Rawat Police Station area on Saturday night.

According to police, the incident occurred near a shopping mall in the private housing society, where reports were received that a businessman, identified as Shamir Zia of Saadi Road, had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head and was rushed to hospital. However, by the time family members arrived, his body had been placed in the morgue.

The deceased's father, Adnan Zia, told the police that his son was involved in the car business. He said that earlier in the evening, a call was received on his wife's phone from Shamir Zia's fiancée, Amina. She informed them that Shamir had come to her house in his car, where an argument broke out between them over some issue. Following the dispute, Shamir allegedly sat in the front seat of his car and shot himself in the head with his pistol.

The father stated that Shamir took the extreme step in a fit of anger and that the family did not wish to pursue any legal action. Acting on the family's statement, the police conducted a post-mortem examination and registered an initial report, launching an investigation into the incident.
