Pakistan's value-added textile and apparel export industry has expressed serious concern over the lack of timely arrangements by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) for participation in the internationally renowned trade exhibition "Sourcing at MAGIC", scheduled from February 17 to 19, 2026, in Las Vegas, the United States.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PRGMEA) and the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA), in separate letters to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighted that the value-added apparel sector accounts for nearly 55% of total textile exports, earns billions of dollars in foreign exchange, and employs millions across the country.
The two associations sought the prime minister's urgent intervention to ensure a well-organised and visible Pakistan Pavilion. They noted that despite exporters completing registrations, paying participation fees, and initiating buyer outreach, TDAP has yet to confirm adequate arrangements, causing anxiety among exporters, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
"Sourcing at MAGIC" is the largest apparel sourcing platform in North America, hosting over 2,000 exhibitors and attracting more than 78,000 buyers and brands worldwide. TDAP has historically organised Pakistan's pavilion, which industry leaders say is vital for credibility and visibility.
The associations warned that any weak representation could allow regional competitors to capture market share, undermining months of preparation by exporters.
