SHANGLA:

Another young laborer from Shangla's Lilonai area lost his life while working in a coal mine, sparking waves of grief and outrage in the area. Abdul Rehman, a resident of Shangla, died after toxic gas filled a private coal mine in Chakwal, where he had been employed in search of livelihood.

Sources reported that Abdul Rehman, compelled by unemployment and poverty, had moved to another province to earn a living. While working inside the mine, a sudden accumulation of poisonous gas prevented him from escaping in time, resulting in his death on the spot. Other workers managed to escape and alerted the mine authorities.

Workers from Shangla's underdeveloped regions, including Changa, Lilonai, and surrounding areas, frequently face such fatal accidents in coal mines.
