Colleen Hoover's 'Reminders of Him' film adaptation: release date and cast revealed

Universal’s adaptation of 'Reminders of Him' set for March 2026 release, with Maika Monroe leading cast

Universal’s film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel Reminders of Him is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on March 13, 2026, following several changes to its original release plans.

The project is one of several Hoover adaptations currently moving through Hollywood, alongside Regretting You and Verity.

The film was initially slated for a February 2026 release before being postponed to March. Production has now concluded, with director Vanessa Caswill confirming in mid-June that filming had wrapped.

Maika Monroe was the first actor cast in the film and will star in the lead role. She is joined by Tyriq Withers, with further casting additions announced in the months that followed.

Rudy Pankow has been cast in an as-yet-undisclosed role, while Lauren Graham will appear as Grace Landry, the mother of Kenna’s late boyfriend.

Nicholas Duvernay plays Roman, a bartender connected to Kenna’s past through the local community. Bradley Whitford has also joined the cast, along with country music artist Lainey Wilson, who will make her feature film acting debut.

Reminders of Him is directed by Caswill from a screenplay co-written by Hoover and Lauren Levine. The pair are also producing the film through Heartbones Entertainment.

Hoover’s involvement continues a pattern seen across several adaptations of her work, with the author closely participating in the transition from page to screen.

The story is based on Hoover’s 2022 novel, which has sold more than six million copies in the United States.

It follows Kenna Rowan, a mother who returns to her hometown after serving five years in prison and attempts to reconnect with her young daughter. Facing resistance from those around her, Kenna finds support from Ledger Ward, a local bar owner who becomes her link to rebuilding her life.
