Mark Ruffalo delivered one of the most forceful political statements on the Golden Globes 2026 red carpet, sharply criticizing President Donald Trump while protesting the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Goode by an ICE agent.
The Marvel actor joined several Hollywood figures who used the awards ceremony to draw attention to the incident, which occurred during a large-scale federal immigration operation in the Twin Cities earlier this month. Goode, a 37-year-old writer and mother, was shot while sitting in her car shortly after dropping her youngest child at school.
Ruffalo appeared on the red carpet wearing protest pins reading “BE GOOD” and “ICE OUT,” a message echoed by other celebrities including comedian Wanda Sykes.
Speaking to USA Today, Ruffalo dedicated his appearance to Goode, describing her death as a killing rather than an accident.
During the interview, Ruffalo directly criticized Trump’s leadership and foreign policy, accusing the president of disregarding international law and governing based on personal morality rather than legal standards. He warned that placing global power in the hands of a leader he views as ethically compromised puts the country at risk.
“He’s the worst human being,” Ruffalo said, adding that Americans should be alarmed if moral guidance for the nation depends on Trump’s judgment.

Wanda Sykes also voiced criticism on the red carpet, reinforcing the broader protest among attendees calling for accountability and reform in immigration enforcement.
