Illegal LPG cylinders pose serious risks
.

Chairman of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) Association, Irfan Khokhar, on Monday called for legislation to regulate LPG cylinders, urging citizens to refrain from using old or unauthorised cylinders due to serious safety risks.
Speaking to a private television channel, Khokhar expressed grave concern over the unauthorised sale of LPG cylinders and the illegal refilling of old and substandard containers, describing the practice as extremely dangerous to public safety.
He warned private outlets involved in such activities to bring their operations into immediate compliance with prescribed safety standards, and called on the government to introduce stringent laws, coupled with strict enforcement, to curb these illegal practices and prevent loss of life and property.
The chairman noted that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has already tabled a bill, which is expected to be implemented in the near future.
