Seth Rogen has confirmed that The Studio is officially back in production, revealing that season two of the Apple TV comedy has already begun filming following its major awards success. Speaking backstage at the Golden Globes, Rogen shared that the cast and crew were heading straight back on set, with the whirlwind of awards season already shaping the next chapter of the series.

The timing of the announcement added to the surreal nature of the moment. Episode eight of season one was set during the Golden Globes, meaning the cast found themselves attending the real ceremony shortly after recreating a fictional version of it on screen. Rogen admitted that the overlap between reality and television had become increasingly blurred, especially as events from the actual ceremony were already being written into upcoming episodes.

Rogen explained that the writers had directly incorporated moments from the lead up to the awards and the night itself into the new season. He said that several real interactions, conversations and unexpected encounters were folded into the scripts almost immediately, with filming starting just a week later. According to Rogen, viewers will likely recognise which moments inspired the storylines once the new season airs.

The Golden Globes also became fertile ground for potential cameos. Rogen revealed that numerous industry figures approached him during the ceremony, openly asking to appear on the show in any capacity. He described studio executives enthusiastically offering to walk through scenes or make brief appearances, noting that real life studio heads seemed particularly eager to be part of the satire.

The enthusiasm followed the season one appearance of Netflix co chief executive Ted Sarandos, which Rogen joked had opened the floodgates. He suggested that Sarandos’ willingness to poke fun at himself encouraged others to volunteer, adding that several new faces were quietly recruited during the ceremony.

The Studio enjoyed a dominant night at the Golden Globes, winning best television series in the musical or comedy category. Rogen also took home the award for best actor in a television comedy, an achievement he described as deeply ironic given that he had previously created a fictional awards episode assuming he would never hold a real trophy.

The show has already made awards history, having won thirteen Emmys last year and breaking the record for most wins by a comedy series. Season two is once again filming in Los Angeles after securing significant California tax credits, although a release date has not yet been confirmed.
