Pickpockets strike during K-P CM’s rally in Karachi
Pickpockets took advantage of the dense crowds during Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi's rally in Karachi on Friday, leaving over a dozen people robbed of mobile phones, wallets, and other valuables.
Victims visited the Airport Police Station to file complaints, reporting that pickpockets were active both at the airport and along Shahrah-e-Faisal, exploiting the chaos during the rally.
According to police, one pickpocket was caught red-handed, and four stolen mobile phones were recovered and handed over to authorities. Videos recorded on victims’ phones showing the thieves in action have also surfaced, confirming the incidents.
One citizen told reporters that his wallet, along with the mobile phones and wallets of seven others containing important documents and valuables, were stolen. In total, more than two dozen people were affected, with seven victims filing reports with the police.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant in crowded areas, especially during political rallies and public events, and to report any suspicious activity immediately.
