Lahore and several other districts of Punjab are witnessing a sharp rise in cases of super flu, influenza and other viral infections, putting pressure on the already burdened public healthcare system.

Government hospitals have reported a continuous influx of patients suffering from flu, chest infection, pneumonia and fever in recent weeks. raising public health concerns.

According to health department sources, more than 45,000 patients were treated in six major government hospitals of Lahore during last week, highlighting the alarming spread of seasonal and viral infections.

Mayo Hospital recorded over 10,000 patients with flu, cough, fever and respiratory complaints. Jinnah Hospital treated more than 8,000 patients, while over 7,000 sought care at Services Hospital. Lahore General Hospital and Children's Hospital received 7,500 patients each, while Sir Ganga Ram Hospital registered more than 6,000 cases, many of them involving severe respiratory symptoms.

Hospital sources say the outpatient departments and emergency wards are crowded, with doctors and paramedical staff struggling to manage the rising patient load.
