More than two years after the death of beloved actor Matthew Perry, his gravesite has been updated with a commemorative plaque honoring his life and his iconic role on Friends.

Perry, who starred as Chandler Bing on the hit NBC sitcom, died on October 28, 2023, at the age of 54. His crypt at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills was initially left unmarked, a common practice meant to protect the privacy of families following the deaths of high-profile individuals.

A newly installed bronze plaque now bears Perry’s full name, Matthew Langford Perry, along with his birth and death dates, August 19, 1969, to October 28, 2023. The inscription reads “Much Loved, Friend", a touching reference to both his personal relationships and his enduring legacy as part of the Friends ensemble.

Visitors to the site have also left flowers and small personal items, including a Batman keychain, a nod to Perry’s well-known affection for the superhero. The addition of the plaque marks a change from late 2025, when the gravesite was still unmarked.

Perry’s portrayal of Chandler Bing made him one of television’s most recognisable and beloved comedic figures, and his work continues to resonate with fans around the world.

His death was ruled accidental and linked to the acute effects of ketamine, with contributing health factors. Since then, several individuals connected to the drug’s distribution have faced legal consequences.

The plaque serves as a lasting tribute to Perry’s impact on television, comedy, and popular culture, offering fans a place to remember the actor whose humor and humanity left a lasting mark.
