‘Private school students to get 10,000 laptops’

RAWALPINDI:

Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar has said that it has been decided to include students of private educational institutions in the laptop scheme, under which 10,000 laptops will be distributed.

Approval for the decision has been granted and distribution will take place this year. He said the education development budget has been increased to Rs110 billion.

The minister said that during 2025, a total of 268 schools were upgraded, while decisions were issued in 37 cases related to harassment of teachers. He said the Teacher Takreem Awards were launched for the first time. He added that work has begun on establishing Centres of Excellence in 10 districts and 300 Schools of Eminence.
