Two candidates elected unopposed in district bar polls

In the annual elections of the Rawalpindi District Bar Association, candidates for two seats have been elected unopposed, while nomination papers for all candidates contesting the offices of president, secretary, vice president, joint secretary and executive body have been approved, pushing the election campaign into full swing.
Chaudhry Kashif Mateen has been elected unopposed as library secretary, while Muhammad Nazakat secured the auditor’s seat unopposed. Three candidates — Tariq Sajid Awan, Sardar Bilal Qayyum and Asad Mahmood Raja — are contesting the presidential seat. Five candidates are in the race for the key secretary position: Mehran Ejaz Anwar Chaudhry, Shehnaz Begum, Iqtidar Hussain Shah, Qamar-ul-Haq Niazi and Sajid Raza Baloch.
For the vice president seat, Shazia Yasin Hashmi Shanzy and Muhammad Imran Mirza are contesting. Ahsan Saleem Manj and Sheikh Saddam Tariq are in the running for joint secretary, while Muhammad Umar, Abdul Qudoos and Mehr Aamir Shahzad are contesting the finance secretary seat.
For five executive body seats, 12 candidates — including Alina Khalid, Huriya Saeed, Nahid Nazir, Hassan Nawaz, Hanan Irfan, Zain-ul-Abidin, Faheem Zafar, Muhammad Israr, Muhammad Rizwan, Mudassar Mahmood and Wajahat Zahoor — have entered the election race.
