Cement sales grow 9.7% to 25.8m tonnes

Dispatches, however, increase marginally by 1.47% in December

Cement dispatches showed a slight growth of 1.47% in December 2025 as total sales reached 4.347 million tons against 4.284 million tons during the same month of last year.

According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, local cement dispatches by the industry during December 2025 were 3.725 million tons compared to 3.5 million tons in December 2024, showing an increase of 6.42%.

Exports continued their downward trend and dropped by 20.66% during December 2025, when shipments stood at 621,685 tons compared to 783,550 tons in December 2024.

During the month under review, north-based cement mills supplied 3.153 million tons to domestic and overseas markets, showing an increase of 5.56% against 2.987 million tons in December 2024.

Similarly, south-based mills released 1.19 million tons of cement in December 2025, which was 7.94% less than dispatches of 1.29 million tons in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Northern mills dispatched 3.153 million tons to domestic markets, registering a rise of 9.75% against sales of 2.873 million tons in December 2024. Southern cement manufacturers provided 572,263 tons for local markets, which was 8.81% lower compared to dispatches of 627,519 tons during December 2024.

Exports from the south contracted 7.14% to 621,685 tons in December 2025 from 669,461 tons during the same month of last year. There were no exports from north-based mills in December 2025.

During the first six months (July-December) of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches (domestic sales and exports) were 25.783 million tons, higher by 9.67% than sales of 23.510 million tons during the corresponding period of last fiscal year.

Domestic dispatches during the period were 21.152 million tons against 18.7 million tons during the same period of last year, recording a growth of 13.11%. Export sales were 3.73% lower as volumes decreased to 4.631 million tons during the first six months of the current fiscal year compared to 4.81 million tons in July-December 2024.

North-based mills dispatched 17.915 million tons of cement domestically during the first half of the current fiscal year, exhibiting an increase of 14.67% compared to dispatches of 15.623 million tons during July-December 2024.

Exports from the north declined by 18.53% to 808,506 tons during July-December 2025 compared with 992,413 tons exported during the same period of last year. Total dispatches from the northern mills rose by 12.68% to 18.723 million tons during the first half of the current financial year from 16.616 million tons in the corresponding period of last year.

Domestic dispatches by south-based mills during July-December 2025 were 3.237 million tons, showing a rise of 5.22% over 3.077 million tons in the same period of last fiscal year. Exports from the south remained almost flat at 3.822 million tons during July-December 2025 compared with 3.818 million tons in the same period of the previous year.

Total dispatches by the south-based mills increased by 2.39% to 7.059 million tons during the first six months of the current financial year from 6.894 million tons in the same period of last year.
